9 months ago our family set out on a new adventure to travel the country in our RV and create a new type of learning platform.
We believe in a world where kids are empowered to learn outside of the classroom.
While not everyone can or wants to travel full-time, everyone has places around them that they can explore. There is so much to be learned by exploring, asking questions, and reflecting.
Our vision for Roadschool Atlas is that this platform helps inspire people to learn out in the world, and gives them the tools to do so effectively.
Today, you can add places to our community generated atlas as well as add writing prompts for interesting questions you have along the way. Each place also has trip tips, fun facts, and links to existing resources to help you along the journey.
Our journals based writing app, gives you a platform to write about and reflect on your adventures, while learning critical typing skills.
Our kids love to look back on their journals and reflect on all the places they have gone.
Technology creates many new possibilities for learning, and one that is the most exciting is the ability for adaptive learning.
Instead of the traditional grades-based approach where all students are given the same problems and then compared by how much they get correct, adaptive learning takes a different approach.
Adaptive learning focuses on a student's strengths and gradually increases the difficulty to the 'zone of proximal development'
We are building an entire platform based on adaptive learning for many different subjects.
As you use Roadschool Atlas, all your progress gets automatically tracked and logged for you. This allows us to generate an automated learning portfolio for you to assess learning progress.
These portfolios can be created for multiple students, and form a comprehensive record of your education.
This is just a brief overview of where we are now and where we are headed. We're excited that you're joining us on this adventure.
We're just getting started!
